The sun shone brightly over My Farm as a group of eager students from Gaye Njorro arrived for a day of exploration and skill enhancement. The group consisted of over 25 enthusiastic students, accompanied by three dedicated staff members: Mr. Ousman Badjie, the arts and crafts trainer, and Adama Gaye, the administration director. This visit promised to be an enriching experience, blending practical training with a touch of fun.

Upon arrival, the students were greeted warmly by the My Farm team. The day began with a comprehensive tour of the training facilities. The students marveled at the various setups, each dedicated to different skills training course. The first practical demonstration stop was the soap-making station. Here, the My Farm trainer demonstrated the entire process, from mixing ingredients to molding and packaging the final product. The students eagerly participated, taking turns to stir the mixture and pour it into molds. The session buzzed with excitement as they witnessed the transformation of simple ingredients into beautifully crafted soap bars.

Next, the group moved to the T-shirt printing workshop, where Mr. Ousman Badjie took the lead. He began with a brief introduction to the different techniques and tools used in T-shirt printing. The students listened attentively, and their curiosity was stimulated under Mr. Badjie’s guidance. They experimented with designs and colors, each creating their own unique printed T-shirt. Laughter and cheers filled the air as the students proudly showcased their creations.

After the hands-on activities, the students attended a session in the Business Lab, a hub of innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and mindset change They were put into small groups and tasked with developing business ideas related to the skills they had learned. The atmosphere was electric with brainstorming and collaboration. Each group then presented their ideas, showcasing impressive creativity and business acumen. The presentations were met with applause and constructive feedback from both the My Farm and Gaye Njorro staff and their peers.

The day concluded with a vibrant show, featuring dances and a funfair. The students and some staff members from My Farm joined in, dancing to rhythmic beats and enjoying the festive atmosphere. The joyous celebration marked the perfect end to a day filled with learning, creativity, and friendship.

As the visit came to a close, the students of Gaye Njorro left My Farm not just with new skills but with cherished memories and a renewed sense of inspiration. The collaboration between Gaye Njorro and My Farm highlighted the importance of hands-on training and the impact it can have on young minds. The experience was a testament to the power of practical education and skills training in nurturing future artisans, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
